A fun, shareable snack: hot dogs wrapped with thin tortilla strips, cooked until golden and perfect for dipping in your favorite Querendona sauces. Great for parties, kids’ menus, or casual catering.
•
Hot dog sausages
•
Flour tortillas
•
Yellow mustard (or your preferred spread)
•
Cooking oil or spray
•
Air-fryer liner or parchment (optional)
1. Make the strips: Spread a thin layer of yellow mustard over each flour tortilla. Slice into ~½-inch strips.
2. Wrap: Spiral-wrap each hot dog with 2–3 strips, leaving small gaps so they crisp up.
3. Air fryer: Lightly oil the basket. Cook at 180 °C / 360 °F for 8–10 min, flipping halfway, until the tortillas are golden and crunchy.
No air fryer? Try this instead
Oven: 200 °C / 400 °F, 12–15 min on a lined sheet pan; turn once for even browning.
Skillet: Medium heat with a light brush of oil; turn until tortillas are crisp and the hot dog is heated through, about 6–8 min.
Toaster oven: 190 °C / 375 °F, 10–12 min, watching for a deep golden color.
Three Querendona dips that nail it
Salsa Roja – medium heat with bright tomato notes; rounds out each bite without overpowering.
Buffalo Sauce – tangy heat with a buttery finish for that classic “wing” vibe that loves a crunchy wrap.
Grill Habanero Sauce– smoky, aromatic kick for a bold, lingering finish.
